Another thing I've been thinking about is how people have lost touch with family, the home life, and gardening. My boyfriend and I recently went out of state for a weekend getaway and found it so peaceful. We came home more relaxed being away from the internet, the television, and every day life.
Family is not like it used to be. Every one sat down for a meal together more often then not. Nowadays people are working opposite shifts to save money on child care, but lack the family structure of sitting together and talking. We are losing touch with ourselves as much as we are with the outside world.
Home life - we're all just to busy to stay home and tend to the house, the pets, our dreams and whatnot. Family used to sit and either enjoy a movie together, play games, or talk. Now it's to busy with the internet, cell phones, pda's and so on.
Gardening is good for the soul. I love to garden when I find the time. I have mastered growing tomatoes and corn in my own garden, however I still cannot grow flowers of any kind. I've been growing tomatoes for several years now & love how they turn out. Gardening can be relaxing if you just take the time to sit there, nurture the plant, and get your hands dirty! Relaxing I must say.
I'm sure there are many, many more things we have lost touch with. This is just the tip of the iceberg and came to me before 6 am when I awoke early. My brain is racked from thinking to much and I feel writing about something is the only way to shut the thoughts up for now.
