My Son and His Bio Father

Well in a recent turn of events my son's bio father finally had the DNA test done. Turns out I wasn't lying to him and now he knows that. I talked to the Child Support office on the phone and they told me I had 3 different choices on how to handle things. Well in the conversation it was disclosed that his bio father wanted to be a part of his child's life. Which ruined all future plans I had with my son but whatever. We will just have to see how things play out and go from there.

So since his bio father wants to be a part of his life I took it upon myself to call him. I actually had a friend place the call so that if his present gf answered the phone I wouldn't have to deal with a bunch of drama. Luckily it was some other guy who answered. Anyhow, first 2 attempts was unsuccessful because he wasn't home. They always say 3rd times a charm. When I talked to him he sounded like he was kind of excited to hear that I was calling him to see how he wanted to do the visits and stuff.

Father/ Son visits don't bother me because I believe that every child has a right to know who their parents are and where they have come from. So I went ahead and set up the first visit at a gas station so that it was in public and it was on mutual territory. My son really didn't know how to react to his bio father and we haven't disclosed what he is at this time with my child being so young. Right now his bio father and I are just letting them be buddies. First visit went ok but it only lasted about 45 minutes that day. That was on June 18th.

2nd Visit was at a park on June 22nd. We decided to meet in a park setting to see if my son and his bio father would interact and how well they would interact. At first I didn't think it was going so well but then his bio father decided to get a little involved when we went to the slide. He even went down the slide and hurt his butt. Then my son was swinging in one of the regular swings watching his bio father and bio father's gf swing. He seemed to be taking everything in and just watching. What caught me off guard was when my son actually reached up for his bio fathers hand while walking to the water fountain. It shows there is some progress - and I know it will take some time. Hopefully the visits will stay regular and things will go smoothly, however I am not holding my breath or counting my chickens before the eggs hatch.

Will update again soon with the 3rd visit.
